Initially a Building Committee (a sub-committee to GAWPS) was set up to look into the viability of buying a new building for GAWPS to replace the then GAWPS building at Kg. Kasipillay. The Building Committee which was set-up based on discussion at the EGM held on 26-07-2002, currently consists of the following members :

Since the purchase of the new GAWPS building in year 2003 at the Jalan Maarof, Bangsar premises, the Association had decided to redevelop and reconstruct the building to a bigger with modern facility to accommodate the needs of the current Gujarati community within the Klang Valley. The Building Committee currently undertaking the task on getting the appropriate approval from the relevant authorities and overall design as well as reconstruction of the new ambitious building,

Due to rejection of the above first proposal, GAWPS have now decided to temporary renovate the building in order to maximise capacity. The Ground Breaking Ceremony to mark start of the renovation was held on 14-06-2005. The new look of GAWPS Building is expected to be ready sometime in middle of August 2005.

Renovation works of the building which started on 14-06-2005 finally was completed in end October 2005. Extensive renovation was done to accomodate the current needs of the members. The building was not only renovated to extend the size but also equiped with facility to add State-of Art equipments in near future. The renovated building can now easily accomodate around 300 - 350 people within the hall.

The renovated building was officially opened by Mr. Harsukhlal Kamdar on the 30-10-2005 and Dhanteres pooja was held on the same night in a memorable night. Opening of the new renovated building marked another important milestone of the progress achieved by the Gujarati community under the umbrella of GAWPS.
