A
strong enthusiasm of the Gujarati community to maintain their
traditional cultural values, identity and contacts with their
motherland relatives as well as friends had prompted a group
of dedicated ladies from our Gujarati community to start this
noble task of instilling knowledge of our beloved mother tongue
into our children in 1997. Mrs. Ansuyaben and the Late Kishorebhai
Kamdar with utmost grace and modesty provided their residence
for first two years to conduct the Gujarati classes. With
the increasing interest and population, there was aneed to
conduct these classes in a more scholl like environment. Mr.
Pravin Khandhar with his influential powers helped to get
four classrooms on a rental basis at the school in Lucky Garden,
Bangsar and since 1999. The running cost of the Gujarati classes
comes under the GAWPS umbrella and the running cost for the
school rental, subsidary on book cost, annual picnic outing
is funded by GAWPS.
